Trosyl nail solution contains the active ingredient tioconazole, which is an antifungal medicine used to treat infections caused by fungi, yeasts and moulds.
What is it used for?
- Treatment of fungal nail infections.
How does it work?
- Trosyl nail solution contains the active ingredient tioconazole, which is an antifungal medicine used to treat infections caused by fungi, yeasts and moulds.
- Tioconazole kills fungi and yeasts by interfering with their cell membranes. It works by stopping fungi from producing a substance called ergosterol, which is an essential component of fungal cell membranes. The disruption in production of ergosterol disrupts the cell membrane.
- The cell membranes of fungi are vital for their survival. They keep unwanted substances from entering the cells and stop the contents of the cells from leaking out. As tioconazole disrupts the cell membranes, it kills the fungal cells.
- Trosyl nail solution is used to treat infections of the nails with fungi (dermatophytes), yeasts and moulds.
